Itchy- yeast infection?

I got tested for STD's wednesday, did a pap and pelvic exam as well. So far I haven't heard anything back and my doc says “no news is good news” and they they call ASAP when STD's pop up… anyway… he noticed a little overgrowth in yeast and gave me Diflucan (1 pill to take by mouth to clear up yeast infection). I took it wednesday night and so far my itching isn't AS bad but it's still REALLY bothersome. I'll be fine for awhile but then the itching starts back up and last for quite awhile. So now i'm wondering if it's not something more… it supposed to take 3-5 days to clear but is that right? I've never had a yeast infection before. So now I'm worried about STD's but otherwise I don't have other symptoms. I'm also using ALL new soaps for my clothes and in the shower. Yeast? STD? I want to make it stop
